Lie four: The best reproductions are 99% true to the real and will even fool an allowed dealer.  

- This is fake. All replicas are flawed, even if some are close to the real thing. Do you honestly think a watch that is 99% matching to a $4,000 to $200,000 watch can be sold for $200 or less? Perhaps it can fool authorized dealers. Common clerks are easily fooled, but seasoned dealers, on close inspection, will know it's a replica.

- This is a giant lie. Good copies are made with 440L quality steel. Rolex is the only company that uses 904L steel and it costs three times as much as 440L (one reason why they're so costly).

- Yeah, right. QC in duplicate watch factories is hit-and-miss, but often shoddy. A batch could be OK, but the following one could be duds. (Remember that even in China, it's illegal to make replica watches. Generally little operations, replica watch "factories" are made so they can be easily moved or hidden from the authorities.) What's true, though, is a good dealer will wish to protect his/her reputation and will fix whatever is wrong .
